Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
Rewise ("we") makes Rewise Air, the Rewise app and the Rewise server that lets you control your devices away from home. This policy explains what information they handle. The short version: Rewise only keeps what it needs to control your air conditioner, it never sells or shares your data for advertising, and the app contains no advertising or third-party tracking.
Who is responsible
Rewise is run by Luca Veiga Regianini in Malta, who is the data controller. Contact: support@rewisehome.com.
What Rewise Air and the app handle
- Wi-Fi details: your network name and password are sent from your phone to Rewise Air during setup and stored only on the device, so it can join your network.
- Air conditioner settings and room readings: power, mode, temperature, fan speed, and the room's temperature and humidity, so the app can show and change them.
- Device details: the device ID, firmware version, Wi-Fi signal strength, uptime and memory, so problems can be found and updates delivered.
- Bluetooth and local network: the app uses them only to find and set up your devices. It doesn't use your location.
What the Rewise server keeps
If you use control away from home (and Alexa), your devices keep a secure connection to the Rewise server. The server keeps:
- your home's pairing code and the access tokens of your phones, devices and linked Alexa account (tokens are stored only as one-way hashes);
- the latest state of each device and an activity history of commands (for example "AC set to 22°", when, and whether it worked), kept for up to 13 months;
- crash reports a device sends after it restarts unexpectedly (where it stopped and its last technical notes, never personal content), kept until resolved, at most the latest 200;
- standard technical logs (connection times and errors), kept for a short time to keep the service running.
During the pilot, the server runs on hardware operated by Rewise in Malta and is reached through an encrypted tunnel provided by Tailscale Inc. Your data is not used for advertising, profiling or training AI models, and it is not sold.
Amazon Alexa
If you link Rewise to Alexa, Amazon sends us the commands you give Alexa for your Rewise devices, together with a token that identifies your linked home. We use them only to carry out the command and report the device's state back to Alexa. Your voice recordings stay with Amazon and are governed by Amazon's privacy notice; Rewise never receives audio. You can unlink at any time in the Alexa app, or ask us to remove the link.
Siri
Siri Shortcuts run on your iPhone; Apple handles Siri requests under its own privacy policy and Rewise receives only the resulting command.
Legal basis
We process this information to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), and crash reports and technical logs to keep it secure and working (legitimate interests).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict its use. Email support@rewisehome.com and we'll answer within one month. Removing a device in the app deletes its server access and history. You can also complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).
Children
Rewise is meant to be set up by adults. It isn't directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date, and important changes will be announced in the app.
